LLCportraitLaura Lee Carter began her freelance writing career in 2005.  Her investigative reports and profiles have since appeared in American History Magazine, The Coloradan Alumni Magazine, The Erickson Tribune, Journey Magazine, Lydia's Style Magazine, The Loveland Reporter-Herald, and WOW-Women on Writing.  She also works as the copy editor for Lydia's Style Magazine, and is a proud member of the Colorado Authors' League.

Her second area of specialization is personal essays. Subjects covered include divorce, job loss, career change, self-discovery and exploration, finding love in mid-life, and home improvement as spiritual healing. Before beginning her work as a freelance writer, health researcher, and copy editor, Laura Lee worked as an academic librarian for 25 years.  With bachelor and master degrees in Chinese language and history, Laura Lee spent years living in East Asia.  In 1995 she earned an M.A. degree in transpersonal counseling psychology from the Naropa Institute in Boulder, and then gained clinical experience as a psychotherapist.  She now provides counseling and medical research services to clients with life threatening illnesses, and sometimes serves as a personal coach for relationship success.

Areas of special interest to Laura Lee are psychology, midlife transitions, traditional and alternative medicine, the healing power of sunshine and solar energy, healthy aging and travel. Areas of professional expertise include psychology, medical research, American history and cultural practices, modern Chinese history, and expert-level database research skills in most subject areas
