Important Announcement: Fall 2020

Dear students,

Given the College's announced plans for Fall 2020, the Loeb Center wants to clarify its access policies for students. All students, including those on voluntary withdrawal for Fall 2020, will have continued access to:

  • Handshake
  • Career Advising
  • Loeb Center Events
  • Recruiting Opportunities and Activities
  • Charles Hamilton Houston Internship Program (but note that you will become ineligible for this if you also withdraw for the Spring 2021 semester)
  • Summer 2021 Internship Funding eligibility (but note that you will become ineligible for this if you also withdraw for the Spring 2021 semester)

All of these services will be delivered remotely, whether students are enrolled on-campus, enrolled but studying remotely, or on voluntary withdrawal.

However, we wanted to bring attention to an additional factor. Electing a voluntary withdrawal for Fall 2020 and pushing your graduation to a December timeline may impact your eligibility for recruiting opportunities, since many employers have recruiting timelines and processes that lead to summer/early fall start dates. As you make a decision about the coming academic year, we wanted to inform you of this potential implication with full transparency. Be assured that the Loeb Center is here to advise and assist, but employment opportunities are at the discretion of employers, and therefore any voluntary withdrawal decisions may have impacts beyond our control.

Handshake is your go-to resource to search for jobs or internships, schedule advising appointments, and to see upcoming Loeb Center events.
